Quite simply if you had a pot of $100 and it cost you $10 to call this pot your pot odds would be 10:1. Now, what does this mean? Implied Odds (Pot Odds): Implied odds are calculated like pot odds...but they take into account future betting.

Expected Value: To determine the expected value of a hand you must first know the pot odds and the odds of drawing the card to win the pot. You then compare the two figures and if the odds of drawing the winning card are higher than the pots, you have a positive expectation to profit in the long run.
